Volunteer & Mentor

Volunteer Opportunities

Since the Yerwood Center is a community resource, our resources includes you (the volunteer), your talent, and/or skills. Take a look at the additional volunteer opportunities available within our programs. Please note that these opportunities are not restrictive at the Yerwood Center. There may be a talent or skill that is not included that falls within our mission statement. Let us know if there is another skill that you would like to share that will lead to the development of our community.

The Process

For all volunteers, the process is as follows:

  • Submit a volunteer application
  • Background check

You will be given an orientation of Yerwood’s volunteer program, our expectations, discuss opportunities, and availability.

During Our Academic School Year (September – June)

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Tutoring (homework assistance)
  • Yerwood Extended Day (K-6th grade)
  • I-XCEL Teens (9th-12th grade)
  • Performing Arts – assist with program sessions/performances
