Applicants must be enthusiastic, creative, industrious, responsible, punctual, and resourceful and have a genuine love for children.
All applicants must be in good health and will be required to undergo a physical examination before coming to work. The camp will provide a medical form to be completed by the applicant’s physician and submitted to the camp office prior to June 1.
Counselors and Specialists must be a minimum of 18 years of age and already attending college. Salaries are competitive and jobs slots fill up quickly so apply now!
Head Counselor Job Description
- 18 Years of Age and Older
- College Graduate and/or four years of experience as a summer counselor.
- Directs group of 20- 25 children in a manner that promotes safe behaviors and improves the quality of the children’s interaction with one another.
- Participates in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support, etc.
- Serves as a role model to young children by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct.
- Supervises and guides junior staff assigned to group.
- Responsible for campers’ safety; on the bus, on a trip, at activities, and during transitions.
- Reports any accident to proper camp personnel.
- Takes accurate attendance of campers daily.
- Provides camp with all items necessary for employee file.
- Is attentive to and follow administrative notices defining camp procedures and routines.
- Attends and passes CPR and First Aid course. Camp pays for the course
Counselor Job Description

Program Specialist Job Description (Arts & Craft, Performing Arts, Sports & Recreation, Computer)
- 18 Years of Age and Older
- At least one year of college and/or two years of experience as a specialist in specfied field.
- Plans and provides instruction that is appropriate to the ability level of different age groups and makes the activity appealing and fun.
- Teaches safe behaviors and ensures that strong safety policies are practiced in their area of specialty.
- Assumes special assignments and responsibilities during Special Events or on rainy days as determined by Camp or Program Director.
- Maintains a record of activities and/or camper progress for each group.
- Provides camp with all items necessary for employee file.
- Attends to and follows all administrative notices defining camp procedures and routines.
